Maija de Santa Cole lamp, desktop model.

The inspiration of the specialist Ilmari Tapiovaara to elaborate this luminaire in 1955 was the Mayan bee. As you know, this is a character from a children's book from 1902 (the author is Maija).

The design is constituted from a tower of overlapping metal saucers where the light of a gleaming honeycomb sneaks out.

Originally the cymbals were pale pink, and then white, both versions today offered by SANTA & COLE.
